Women's Outreach - Nelson, Kaslo, Salmo and Slocan Valley Areas

Supports women who have been or are experiencing relationship violence and abuse which can take many forms including physical abuse (harm to a partner, threats of harm), emotional abuse (put downs, raised voice, angry volatile behaviour, threats of suicide should  a woman choose to leave, threatening to take or harm children or pets), financial abuse (withholding money for basic needs, not allowing a woman enough money to have coffee with a friend or to take the bus or put gas in the car, taking money a woman has earned or received), and sexual abuse (forcing, insults, threats).

Provides confidental support, resources, and practical assistance regarding safety planning, housing resources, financial assistance, Legal Aid and family law options and connection to other anti- violence support services.

Services are available to women in Nelson and the surrounding areas including Kaslo, Salmo and the Slocan  Valley.

The program is temporaily on hold due to Covid 19 protocols.

Stopping the Violence (STV) Women's Counselling - Nelson Counselling for women who have experienced violence or abuse in adult relationships, sexual assault or childhood sexual abuse.
The PEACE Program for Children and Youth - Nelson Counselling services and Art / Play Therapy for children and youth who have witnessed abuse and family violence.
