Child and Youth Counselling - Nelson
Offers Art / Play therapy and counselling services for children / youth who have witnessed or experienced abuse, including sexual abuse.
Individual, parent-child and group counselling is available, including in school settings,
Services include The PEACE Program (formerly CWWA) and the Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP).
Families can request services directly, and referrals to the program also come from school personnel, daycare workers, social workers, advocates, mental health clinicians, victim's assistance workers, transition house workers, parent support and family support workers.
Based on the child's or youth's needs, they may participate in one-to-one counselling, group work, or meet with the counsellor and a parent together.
Provides services to local schools, at times offering support and education.
