Volunteer Driver Program - Salmo
Provides a daytime service for citizens of Salmo / Ymir and surrounding area who are unable to access public or private transportation to attend medical, dental and other essential appointments.
The service is intended for essential, non-emergency appointments only.
Service is provided to individuals referred to the program by a medical practitioner or community support worker.
Self referrals are accepted if supported by medical or community service professionals.
Once participants meet screening criteria, they are registered with the program and can book appointments independently.
There is an expense honoraria paid directly to the trained volunteer driver to cover basic vehicle opreating costs.
