Adopt BC Kids
There are 2 ways to adopt in BC, either through Adopt BC Kids a Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Program or through private licensed agencies in BC.
The Ministry is responsible for thousands of children in foster care in BC, with many of these available for adoption. They have varying degrees of special needs: behavioural, emotional and / or physical.
Low-risk infant adoptions are no longer done through the Ministry, but are arranged through one of the private licensed BC agencies on a fee for service basis.
The Belonging Network (previoulsy: Adoptive Families Association of BC) website has information about various approaches to adoption as well as contact information for the private licensed adoption agencies.
