Infant Development Program - West Kootenay

Services are for children from birth to 3 years who live in the West Kootenay region (Greater Trail, Salmo, Castlegar, Slocan Valley, Nakusp, Kaslo, Nelson) and are at risk for developmental delay or have a delay or disability.

Infant Development Consultants provide family-centered service that is parent-led and responsive to family strengths and priorities and usually takes place in the child's home. With the family's consent, the consultant may work with other professionals in the community to provide necessary services for the child and parents.

Referrals may come from any source, including parent, physician, public health nurse or community professional. A referral form is posted on the website.

Participation is voluntary and free of charge.
