Youth Outreach Program - Castlegar, Greater Trail Area, Slocan Valley to Nakusp
A community-based outreach service for at-risk youth aged 12-18 and their families who are experiencing difficulties.
Services are individualized and can be as short 3-4 months, or over a year depending on need.
Provides support in the following areas:
- Youth Outreach Reconnect Services - support to youth who are at risk of becoming disengaged from their families, community, positive peers, pro-social activities and school.
- Independent Living Skills Acquisition: Support to enhance daily living skills of youth working towards independence, or to better support youth in the home, community, at school and with peers.
- Parent Teen Mediation Services: Short term, intensive support to both youth and their parents, who are experiencing significant conflict.
Referrals may come from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), the community or self-referral from youth and families.
