Canada Pension Plan - Retirement Pension
A Retirement pension that provides a monthly benefit to eligible Canadians. Benefits are based on earnings and contributions to CPP from age 18 or the start of the plan in 1966, whichever is later.
The standard age to receive the pension is 65 and there is no requirement to stop work. The pension can actually begin at any time between age 60 and 70, with the monthly amount paid depending on the age when the pension begins.
Apply in advance, preferably about 6 months before the pension begins.
Applications are available on-line or from a local Service Canada office
Canada Pension Plan (CPP) benefits also include Survivor Benefits and Disability Benefits .
