Adult Substance Use Services - Castlegar
Provides a range of services for adults with substance use concerns. Services are person centered, recovery oriented, trauma informed, culturally safe and utilize harm reduction principles.
Access Services is the point of entry for all people who are referred to community MHSU Services. Purpose is to gather information, provide brief intervention or immediate assistance and support transition to appropriate support which may include:
Counselling and Treatment Services: Provides counselling for people experiencing moderate to severe substance use concerns. Services may include assessment & interventions, psychiatric consultation, self-management support, group and individual counselling.
Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) Program
Overdose prevention services include training & distribution of free naloxone (narcan) kits which are available at the office for substance users, family members or friends. In addition, free harm reduction supplies, including needles and safer smoking kits, are also available upon request.
Regional & Provincial Services include: Withdrawal (detox) services, and various Treatment programs including Day Treatment, Supportive Recovery and Residential Treatment Programs
Individuals may self-refer or referral may be made by a family member, physician or other helping professional.
