Infant Development Program - Boundary
Services for children from birth to 3 years who live in the Boundary region and are at risk for developmental delay or have a delay or disability.
Infant Development Consultants provide family-centered service that is parent-led and responsive to family strengths and priorities and usually takes place in the child's home. With the family's consent, the consultant may work with other professionals in the community to provide necessary services for the child and parents.
Referrals may come from any source, including parent, physician, public health nurse or community professional.
Participation is voluntary and free of charge.
Services include:
- Home Visits
- Informal and formal child development assessment
- Information to enhance parenting skills
- Information on typical and atypical child growth and development
- Support to promote secure attachment relationships
- Information on parent to parent support and community resources and supports
- Coordination of services or supporting a family member in this role
