The Birth Laine Doula Services

Supports clients planning home births in Nelson and surrounding communities including Castlegar, Slocan, Ymir, Balfour, and nearby areas as well as hospital births at Kootenay Lake General Hospital. 

Works collaboratively with local midwifery and maternity care providers in the region, including:

• Colibri Midwifery
• Kootenay Born Midwifery
• Blue Heron Midwifery
• Apple Tree Maternity

Is an approved provider under the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program which means that services might be eligible at low-cost or no-cost for Aboriginal families.

Also offers virtual Prenatal & Childbirth Education, 1:1 Virtual Birth Planning, and options that make doula care more accessible when local support just isn’t available, or financially do-able.
