Aboriginal Early Intervention Program - West Kootenay Boundary

Supports community cultural engagement through family gatherings and drum circles for families with small children.

Includes providing respite care for children aged 0-7 to offer cultural connections like drumming, smudging, traditional crafting and land based teachings to give care providers a break.

  • Works with the COINS team to refer families to the services that they need
  • Collaborates with the Early years team to offer culture camps to bring all ages of young people aged 0-19 together for traditional ways of peer mentorship
  • Family advocacy in areas of housing, medical, educational and all other matters families seek support in managing
