Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Consumer, Family and Peer Support - WKB Region

Works with individuals with mental health & substance use concerns and their families in order to support & assist them in understanding mental health and substance use services & to develop initiatives for change. 

Offers the Mental Health Family Support Drop-in Group in Trail (see attached poster).

Trains and supervises peer support volunteers in Trail, Castlegar, Nelson, Nakusp and Grand Forks.

Offers Mental Health First Aid training for front-line community workers.

Coordinator works in close collaboration with Mental Health and Substance Use Advisory Councils in  5 communities in the region: Grand Forks, Trail, Castlegar, Nelson & Naksup.

Serves the entire West Kootenay Boundary from Rock Creek in the west through Salmo & Kaslo in the east and from Nakusp in the north through Trail in the south.
