Healthy Community Society of the North Slocan Valley

Focus is on the elements of a healthy community - food security, self-reliance, healthy people, a healthy environment and a thriving local economy - through education and community service.

Programs and activities, often in partnership with other organizations, include a local composting program, the Lucerne School garden and greenhouse, school and seniors lunch programs, the Harvest Festival and the Culinary Tool Library.

Also serves as the local contact for the Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program in New Denver which assists those living on a low income to access fresh, healthy products from Farmers' markets in BC.
