Castlegar Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) / Emergency Services
Both Emergency Health Services and Urgent & Primary Care services are provided on the same site in Castlegar and both services are available 7 days/week from 8am to 8pm.
Castlegar Emergency Health Services
If a health emergency arises, call 911 or go immediately to the closest Emergency Department in a Hospital or Health Care Centre that offers those services.
Castlegar Urgent Primary Care Centre:
Available to anyone in the Kootenay Boundary region.
Appointments must be booked in advance by phone at (250) 304-1289 for all services.
The Castlegar UPCC takes appointments for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries such as:
- Minor pain including sore throats, wound checks and dressings, and suture removal
- Assessment and short-term treatment for joint pain and injuries that limit movements
- Minor fevers, infections and upset stomach
- Sexual health information and testing
- Short-term mental health including anxiety and mild to moderate depression
Based on care needs, care could be with a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, social worker, or physiotherapist.
