Aboriginal Supported Child Development (ASCD) Program - West Kootenay Boundary

The  program is intended for children who require extra support to be included in a child care setting. 

A community-based, family-centered, child development program  that is  grounded in the belief that inclusion is the most important principle in supporting children to actively participate in a full range of programs.

Families participate on a voluntary basis.
 
Designed to ensure cultural safety and cultural sensitivity for First Nations, Metis, and Inuit children and families. 

Provides services for children who require extra support in the following areas:

  • Physical Development
  • Cognitive Development
  • Communicative Development
  • Social/Emotional Development
  • Behavior
