The PEACE Program for Children and Youth - Castlegar

The PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) Program offers counselling for children and youth (age 4 to 18) who have witnessed family violence or directly experienced violence.

The goal of the program is to interrupt the cycle of violence, provide healthy ways to deal with conflict, to be able to identify healthier ways of relating, and to strengthen a positive regard for self and others. The counsellor employs art and play therapy to achieve these goals.

Helps the non-offending custodial caregiver to support a child who has witnessed spousal abuse or directly experienced violence in their lives.

Self-referrals welcome.

Note: Program formerly called "Children Who Witness Abuse (CWWA)"
