Better at Home Program - Lower Columbia (Trail Area)

Helps seniors (65+) with simple day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities.

Services include:

  • Friendly Visiting
  • Light houskeeping
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Supported grocery shopping
  • Light yard work
  • Minor home repairs

Services are provided by screened workers and volunteers.

Costs are on a sliding scale according to income with subsidies for eligible low income seniors.

Program serves seniors in Trail, Rossland, Warfield, Rivervale, Montrose, Fruitvale and the Beaver Valley.

In addition,  the program coordinates various other free activities for seniors including the Silver City Seniors Circle gatherings held every other Tuesday from 11am to 1pm at the Trail Legion.
