Board of Registration for Social Workers
The regulatory body for the profession of Social Work in BC, with a mandate to protect the public from preventable harm.
The Board assesses credentials and registers qualified social workers, encourages high standards of practice and reviews complaints concerning social work practice.
One may confirm whether an individual is now or previously was a Registered Social Worker, or obtain a list of registered social workers by contacting the office.
Many Registered Social Workers provide counselling, therapy, and other services to individuals, families, and groups on a private basis. The Board of Registration for Social Workers publishes a voluntary Private Practice Roster which is a useful resource for members of the public looking for services or agencies wishing to make referrals. Check the website or contact the office for this information.
