Kootenay Doula Group

A membership based group of trained Doulas in the West Kootenay.

Each member of the group has their own individual practice that is described on the website along with their contact information.

A Doula will:

• Provide care from the prenatal through to the postpartum period.
• Provide emotional support, reassurance and physical comfort to the labouring woman.
• Assist the woman's partner to participate at their own comfort level in ways that help the woman in labour.
• Provide information and facilitates communication between the pregnant woman, her partner and health care providers.

Fees vary according to the circumstances of the woman and the level of training received by the Doula. In addition, some volunteer service imay be provided to women in need.
