BC Employment Standards Complaints Resolution Process

Employers and employees are first encouraged to try to resolve disputes under the BC Employment Standards Act and Regulations.

The "Solution Explorer" on the website, provides tools and advice to help employees resolve the issue.

If, after working through this process, the dispute has not been resolved, the employee can make a formal complaint to the Employment Standards Branch via the website.

Once a complaint has been filed, employment Standards will contact all parties to see if a resolution is possible. If not, the complaint may proceed to an investigation and a written decision will be made.

To appeal a decision, follow the appeal process with the Employment Standards Tribunal.
