Court Information Program for Immigrants and Refugees

Services are provided in Mandarin, Cantonese, Punjabi, Hindi, French, Spanish and English for immigrants and refugees who may be in court as victims, witnesses, accused or parties in a civil suit.

The workers help clients to understand legal aid, diversion, remand court, bail, trials, sentencing, probation and appeals.

Workers provide information and make referrals, but do not give legal advice, serve as interpreters or act as advocates for the client.

Provides front-line services at the Vancouver Main Street Courthouse and the Surrey Provincial Couthouse and are also accessible by phone, fax and email to users of other courthouses around the province.

The website features numerous videos, links to online resources as well as translated information from the popular resource Learning About the Law in four languages:English, Chinese, Korean and Punjabi .
