Adult Basic Education Selkirk College

Designed to allow mature students, generally over 18 years of age, to develop academic skills, personal management skills and teamwork skills for use in the labour force, in further academic training and in their communities. Available on most Selkirk College campuses.

Student-centered and makes every effort to accommodate students' individual learning needs. Flexibility of courses, hours and delivery depends on the particular campus.

Offerings range from fundamental skill levels to the equivalent of Grade 12 completion. Students can also receive tutoring for distance education courses, may also receive help to prepare to write the General Education Diploma examinations.

English as a Second Language courses are also available and can help individuals who do not speak English become fluent in both written and conversational English. Courses are available on an individualized basis on most campuses
