Beautiful Beginnings (Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP)) - Castlegar

Free program that helps pregnant and new parents with children up to 1 year,  living in the Castlegar and Slocan Valley Areas, with supports such as meals, food vouchers, vitamin supplements and educational opportunities.

Aims to support mothers and all parents to be as confident and well informed as possible. Vision is happy, healthy babies and families comfortably connected in tolerant and resilient communities.

Offers a weekly drop-in every Tuesday which provides a nutritious lunch, opportunities for learning and engagement with relevant topics and, most important, a chance to connect with other new parents in the community.

Also available are prenatal vitamins, high quality infant vitamin D drops, meal or grocery vouchers, breastfeeding support, hospital-grade breast pump for lending, a lending library, and a maternity and infant clothes closet.

One-to-One support is always available. There are many questions and milestones at this intense time of life, and the coordinator can offer an ear, her own nutrition knowledge for mother and baby, and many trusted resources and referrals at hand for any and all concerns.
