The Interior Health Authority (IHA) is responsible for administering publicly funded health care in the southern BC interior.

Responsibilities include hospital services, mental health, health promotion and prevention, alcohol and drug services, home and community care programs, residential and assisted living facilities and laboratory and diagnostic services.

The region is divided into 4 sub-regions: East Kootenay, Kootenay Boundary, Okanagan, and Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Health Service Areas.
