StrongStart Outreach - Southern Zone (Burton, Fauquier, Edgewood)

The Arrow and Slocan Lakes Community Literacy Program (CBAL) collaborates with School District No. 10 - Arrow and Slocan Lakes to offer the StrongStart Outreach Program in the Southern Zone in the Burton Elementary School, Edgewood Elementary School and the Fauquier Community Centre.

StrongStart offers a free, play-based early learning drop-in program for preschool-age (birth to 5 years) children attending with their parents or caregivers.

A qualified early childhood educator leads activities.

During the program parents and caregivers learn;

• Activities to do at home to help a child learn
• Ways to support a child's physical, social and emotional learning
• Ways to support a child's language and communication skills
• Tips for healthy snacks
• Information about other services and resources in the community.
