Adult Substance Use Services - Nakusp (Arrow and Slocan Lakes)

Provides a range of services for adults with substance use concerns. Services are person centered, recovery oriented, trauma informed, culturally safe and utilize harm reduction principles.

Access Services is the point of entry for all people who are referred to community MHSU Services. Purpose is to gather information, provide brief intervention or immediate assistance and support transition to appropriate support which includes:

Counselling and Treatment Services:  Provides counselling for people experiencing moderate to severe substance use concerns.  Services may include assessment & interventions, psychiatric consultation, self-management support, group and individual counselling.

Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) Program in Nelson or Castlegar

Overdose prevention services include training & distribution of free naloxone (narcan) kits which are available at the office for substance users, family members or friends. In addition, free harm reduction supplies, including needles and safer smoking kits, are also available upon request.

Regional and Provincial Services include Withdrawal, Supportive Recovery,  Day and Residential Treatment Programs 

Individuals may self-refer or referral may be made by a family member, physician or other helping professional.

Serves the Arrow and Slocan Lakes area including communities of Burton, Edgewood, Fauquier, Hills, Nakusp, New Denver, Silverton, Summit Lake and Trout Lake.
