Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC)
Provincial Association of service providers addressing gender-based violence, child sexual abuse (recent and historical) and sexual assault.
Members work in Sexual Assault Centres, Women Assault Centres, Commuity Based Victim Assistance Programs and Stopping the Violence Counselling and Outreach programs across BC.
Programs include:
- Anti-Violence Program and Worker Support across BC
- Community Coordination for Survivor Safety (CCSS) supports rural and isolated communities to develop coordination initiatives to address sexual assault and violence against women in relationships.
- Various programs to help develop a culture in BC free from gender-based violence including:
- Be More Than A Bystander - a partnership between EVA BC and the BC LIons that sees sports icons from the BC Lions advocating against violence, bullying and harrassment. The training and education program inspires change towards making communities safer and includes custom programs for schools and workplaces.
- SHARP (Sexual Harassment Advice, Response, and Prevention) Workplaces is a collaboration between EVA BC and the Community Legal Assistance Society (CLAS). The Project aims to increase public knowledge, skills, confidence, and competence in managing complex issues related to workplace sexual harassment, and to improve access to legal supports and resources for people who experience workplace sexual harassment
- Anti-Racism and Hate Response Training
Also develops policy, guidelines, training, conferences and resources, as well as providing representation for communities and support for special initiatives.
