West Kootenay Nav-CARE Collective
Offers free volunteer outreach services designed to support persons living with declining health due to life-limiting or chronic illness as well as for those who are living with other quality of life concerns such as loneliness, recent loss, difficulty finding resources, etc.
There is no need to have a specific diagnosis or condition; what is important is that the person accessing the service feels that they can benefit from being matched by a volunteer.
A trained volunteer navigator helps the person and family to connect with resources, navigate through changes and challenges, learn about the condition, re-engage in what makes life feel meaningful and anticipate future needs.
