Community Paramedicine Services

Community paramedics provide primary care services to increase access to basic health care services in non-urgent settings, in patients' homes or the community.

Serves mainly isolated seniors and offers home visits, health assessments, referrals and basic care.

Intended primarily for older patients living with chronic conditions such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes or are at risk of falls.

Referrals for no-cost service must come from patient's doctor or a community health provider.

Services are available in rural areas in the Kootenay Boundary and are based in the following communities:
