Castlegar Safe Home for Domestic Violence

A crisis response offering free, safe, emergency accomodation (for up to 45 days) plus additional support to women and their children who have experienced domestic violence.

Transportation available to the Trail or Nelson Transition Houses

Offers ongoing practical and emotional support (regardless of whether a woman decides to stay in or leave a relationship) including information, referrals, advocacy and accompaniment to related appointments.

Further support from the program and other agency staff includes: aafety planning, advocacy for the victim-identified needs, counseling and assistance with navigating the legal system,

If this is an urgent situation after regular office hours, either call 911 or the Castlegar RCMP Detachment at 250-365-7721 and follow the instructions on the answering machine to reach to the on-duty dispatcher.
