Connects poverty and family law advocates and pro bono lawyers from across BC working on issues like housing, income, workers’ rights, Indigenous legal issues, newcomers to Canada and more.
Up-to-date information about welfare and housing laws, links to various electronic resources, information about books, videos and films about poverty and general research tools is available to those who are members of the PovNet online community. See the website for free membership criteria.
The website includes the Find an Advocate Tool
The PovNet project is directed by a steering committee comprised of grassroots organizations and service providers concerned about poverty and legal issues.
Also hosts a number of confidential email lists for advocates and community workers working with poor and otherwise disadvantaged people.
