Mental Health & Substance Use Advisory Councils - West Kootenay Boundary

Council Members, who may be consumers, friends and / or family members, act as advisors to the local mental health and substance use system and as consumer advocates.

There are Local Councils in Grand Forks, Nakusp, Nelson, Castlegar & Trail.

A Regional Advisory Council consists of Representatives from each Council plus an Interior Health staffperson from the 5 local offices.

Councils are supported by the Coordinator of the West Kootenay Boundary Mental Health and Substance Use Consumer, Family and Peer Support Program which is administered by the Trail FAIR Society.
