A provincial, cross-disability advocacy organization whose mandate is to raise public and political awareness of issues of concern.
Works to facilitate the full participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of society and to promote independence.
Advocates with all levels of government on policies and attitudes that affect people with disabilities.
Promotes public awareness of issues through conferences, special projects and the media.
Provides Various Programs and Services for people with disabilities to help them access services and programs including:
- Disability Law Clinic: provides a Summary Advice and Referral Service which is a free, confidential legal service, directly to persons with disabilities from across BC, on certain disability-related areas of law.
- Disability Benefits Wayfinder: Helps navigate principal disability benefits
Shares information, resources and self-help skills with individuals and disability groups.
